Nuasin Next Generation Charter School is in search of motivated, mission-aligned individuals that want to join us in providing the scholars and families of the Highbridge section of the Bronx with the truly excellent school they need and deserve. We are looking for educators that believe in the talent and intellectual capabilities of our scholars. We are looking for educators that are excited to engage and ignite our scholars in deep intellectual engagement of great ideas, problem-solving activities, and a complex understanding of our academic content. The anticipated salary range is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 for a candidate who will work in New York City. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience to the job, education, and certifications.

Day to Day Operations:
  • Lead and manage operations projects from planning through to execution and review for improvement.
  • Maintain all operations cadence calendars and review them regular to ensure completion of tasks and projects are delivered on time and with quality.
  • Own the safety of staff and scholars in and around the building.
  • Lead the brand of the school, ensuring that Nuasin's brand standards are always maintained.
  • Ensure frequent and clear communication to staff.
  • Support recruiting, enrollment and reenrollment efforts for the school.
  • Support the culture team's initiatives for scholar and community events.
  • Own, lead the planning and execution of staff events.
  • Continuously look for operational improvements.
  • Support the Managers of Operations in leading the school's operations team.
  • Function as a member of the School's Leadership Team.
  • Support the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Marketing with all marketing efforts, onboarding of staff, recruitment of staff, applicant interviews and screening.
  • Other routines, duties and tasks as assigned by the Managing Director of Operations to meet the needs of Nuasin.

Human Resources
  • Lead the accurate execution of payrolls on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Lead the daily time management and accountability of all staff.
  • Ensure payrolls are always processed on time on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Lead the onboarding of new staff members in partnership with the MoTA&M.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team with accountability conversations.
  • Lead the creation and continuous updates to performance evaluation system.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Nuasin's policies.
  • Maintain the Nuasin handbook compliant as per city, state and federal law.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to leaders when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Compliance
  • Ensures the compliance efforts to the city and the state in regards to all reporting including but not limited to attendance information, scholar information, staff information and facilities information.
  • Complete all board meeting and committee meeting minutes. Ensure OML compliance.
  • Ensure employee files are maintained accurately and updated when necessary.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of the I-9 binder.
  • Ensure staff files are maintained accurately and updated when necessary.
