The Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) is looking for dynamic, dedicated Education Support Professionals to join HEC Academy, a public day special education program that offers a small-school learning environment for high school students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges and/or learning disabilities. These positions are temporary long-term positions to assist with specific student needs. The Educational Support Professional will support teaching and learning on a daily basis under the guidance of licensed special educators and content teachers, and will help support implementation of HEC Academy's behavioral system. Math/Science background is preferred. Experience working with this student population highly desired. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

This is you:
  • You hold an Associate's Degree or higher in human service or education-related field
  • Education or experience working with students with learning, behavioral, and/or social emotional challenges.
  • Must be able to communicate with youth and adults from multiple backgrounds and cultures, and have the ability to work with diverse personalities and populations.
  • Training in, or awareness of crisis intervention and de-escalation and behavioral management a plus


Highlights of What You Will Do:
  • Under the guidance of licensed special educators and content teachers, support the implementation of daily academic lessons; work 1:1 or with small groups of students as needed to support learning.
  • Provide constant supervision of students during all activities in the program.
  • Incorporate IEP objectives, learning styles, modifications and accommodations for each student as directed.
  • Support daily implementation of HEC Academy's behavioral system, which includes proper role modeling of appropriate behavior for students.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively both as a team member, and independently to complete assigned tasks; actively support the work of others on the team and elsewhere in the organization.
