Job Details
John Hancock Charter School is a student-centered school that is seeking educators who are prepared to lead and are passionate about JHCS’s mission to provide students with a first-class educational program. JHCS is a K-8 charter school located in Pleasant Grove, UT. We are opening a second campus in the fall of 2023 in Eagle Mountain, UT with a capacity of 900 students. There will be 5 small “schools within a school”; four K through 6th grade schools, and one 7-8th grade middle school. Each school will have approximately 180 students with one class per grade and a lead teacher/administrator. This allows for a small, intimate, school environment where students know each other and every teacher. Teachers also know every child. This school climate creates and encourages relationships. Students who feel comfortable and safe take risks and develop a growth mindset.
Our curriculum creates a cultural literacy or a foundation for all future learning. The arts and STEM subjects are integrated into our vigorous curriculum. It promotes the building of character and civic responsibility and prepares students to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. Standards-based grading holds students accountable for mastery and sets high expectations that students stretch to accomplish.
John Hancock Charter School is now accepting applications for teachers and support staff. We are searching for individuals who are comfortable working in an exciting start-up environment, who are risk-takers and are driven to imagine and explore the limitless possibilities for our students, and who are committed to providing an engaging, yet rigorous, educational experience for our students.
Successful candidates will be highly collaborative, yet independent thinkers, and will be comfortable “co-working” with their professional peers. Do you want to teach your students on a deeper level and facilitate opportunities for them to develop their passions beyond the core content? If so, apply now.
