Research Coordinator
Purpose
The job of Research Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of conducting a variety of analytical research activities including; the evaluation of education-related programs; analysis of student outcomes data; design and implementation of survey methodologies and other data collection processes; conducting technical analysis of complex data sets employing advanced quantitative and qualitative techniques; presenting summaries of complex technical information to lay audiences for the purpose of program planning and improved academic achievement.
Essential Functions
Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis of complex education and education-related information using advanced statistical and analytic methods for the purpose of gathering and integrating all data systems within the district on the Decision Ed dashboard.
Conducts evaluations of programs for the purpose of developing and monitoring district program series.
Designs, constructs, maintains, and utilizes electronic databases for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of the district dashboard (Runs verification extracts, reports, to ensure accuracy of data within the system).
Reviews, utilizes, and creates visualizations of a wide variety of disaggregated student assessment data and information for the purpose of enhancing programs for district continuous improvement and ensuring that program operations support departments and schools.
Writes reports summarizing technical research findings for use in policy making, planning and organizational decision making for the purpose of creating an ongoing continuous improvement cycle.
Compares data to authoritative sources and references for the purpose of determining accuracy, validity and reliability of information into system for dashboard creation.
Other Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices and procedures; analyzing data; classifying data and/or information; physical restraint practices; planning and managing projects; conducting meetings; facilitating meetings; travel between sites. Represents the diversity in the district and drives source accuracy of data produced; highly skilled in data configuration, visualization, and validation. Provides guidance, professional learning and data validation with leaders and staff in the district.
KNOWLEDGE is required to Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent's and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions: and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Practice data collection, initiate analysis of complex data that employs quantitative and qualitative methods.

Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or Coordinating others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform job's functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organization's services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting,30% walking, and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibilities is desired.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Science discipline from an accredited university. Master's degree preferred.
