Job Description

The Tapestry Program of Rutland City Public School and Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union are is looking for a new Site Director for our West Rutland Program.

This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for someone interested in building a creative and engaging program that supports students, and encourages exploration, learning, development of transferrable and practical life skills for children. The successful candidate must have a vision for implementing high-quality and engaging summer and afterschool programming that connects with school-based initiatives, is strongly focused on student choice while continuing to provide new learning and opportunities designed to maximize student engagement. Strong, collaborative leadership skills are a must for success.

The Coordinator responsibilities include: acting as the main liaison between the school, the site and the Tapestry Office to align service offerings and program offerings that complement learning and youth development; managing the site operations effectively and efficiently, while adhering to all safety and regulatory compliance; actively participating and contributing to the vision and administration of the Tapestry Program; recruiting and actively supervising program staff; overseeing and coordinating enrichment plans/programs designed to be enriching, hands-on, community-based, academic, and recreational that provide new, high-quality experiences for children; promoting professional learning, advancement, and continuous quality improvement in concert with the Tapestry Program's leadership and establishing a safe and welcoming environment for all staff, all children, and all families.

Anticipated Schedule: The afterschool program follows the school calendar (~20 hours per week). The summer program runs for six to seven (~ 25-40 hours per week).

All candidates must meet VAE and local qualifications, including passing background checks.
