The Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of afterschool and summer programs at Mott Haven Middle School. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader who has a desire to make a lasting impact by supporting the design and implementation of high-quality enrichment programming for youth in the South Bronx community.

Responsibilities

    • Supervise day-to-day operations of after-school program site to ensure youth participate in activities at high levels
    • Manage Dream University, DREAM's 6-week summer program;
    • Serve as a member of the Middle School Student Life Team
    • Provide real-time coaching and feedback to the Middle School part-time staff team
    • Provide daily on-site supervision of recess coaches and recess
    • Design and lead workshops and peer groups for middle school students about issues such as sexual health, community service, peer mediation, self-care and communication
    • Manage data collection and record-keeping to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with specific grant requirements;
    • Lead after-school and summer program communication to participants, families, and staff
    • Hire, develop, and oversee program part-time staff
    • Provide part-time staff with targeted coaching and development;
    • Collaborate with the Middle School Student Life team to strengthen school culture through attendance accountability, infusing joy into programming, and supporting implementation of circles and restorative practices;
    • Create coverage plan as needed for both recess and after-school programming


Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required;
    • Prior experience with youth development, including lesson planning and/or curriculum creation required;
    • Group facilitation experience required;
    • Experience managing partnerships and creating connections within the community;
    • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills;
    • Excellent planning skills, high attention to detail, and a skilled problem solver;
    • A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM, including the belief that all students can succeed, and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.


Compensation

    • DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience with the potential for an annual performance-based increase. The incoming salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity. All staff are eligible for annual performance-based increases.
    • We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for medical plans and subsidizing the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children. Other benefits include dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, flexible spending account options, generous vacation time and paid holidays, referral bonuses, professional development, an employee assistance program (EAP) and a 403(b) plan with employer matching up to 4%.
