CTE Media Art Teacher

Job Description: High School CTE Teacher to teach Media Art course work that motivates students to develop skills necessary for success beyond high school through teaching medial art with various technologies. Classes include Yearbook, Intro to MEdia Art, Intro to Commercial Art, and Advanced Commercial Art. An extension of the classroom assignment includes overseeing business enterprises that includes Print Media Shop and the High School Yearbook. The assignment will provide active leadership, guidance, and supervision in Skills USA, Yearbook, Medica Club activities, competitions, community development projects, and more.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Possess or willingness to pursue a Washington State Teaching Certificate
  • Possess or willingness to pursue a Washington CTE Certification Initial or Continuing Certification and follow CTE standards and expectations
  • WSP/FBI fingerprinting background clearance check (fee paid by the employee)
  • Demonstrates command of interpersonal communication skills with students, parens, and peers (oral and written)
  • Familiar with state standards and training in the effective use of assessment
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and community
  • Successful teaching experience/practicum in a secondary setting.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and community
  • Ability to support students with expanded leadership opportunities with Skills USA
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

  • Teaching & Learning - Deeply understand the Washington Standards and establish clear learning targets for every lesson. Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently engage students with science and engineering practices.
