Occupational therapy positions are itinerant, therapists travel to multiple assigned school sites for the provision of occupational therapy services.

An Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluates student performance in areas such as fine motor, self-help, sensory processing, daily living and vocational skills. The OT documents evaluation results, establishes functional goals and develops intervention plans. In collaboration with others, the OT implements occupational therapy services in accordance with each student's Individual Educational Plan or 504 Plan. The OT provides training to classroom staff members as needed and engages in ongoing assessment of student progress.

Qualifications

Current Occupational Therapist license issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing

Current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction #812, Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

Provision of Occupational Therapy Services to students suspected of having a disability, students with an IEP and/or students with a 504 Plan:
• Evaluation and ongoing assessment
• Development of measurable functional goals and establishing intervention plans
• Document student progress and adapt/modify curriculum and tools for the classroom and/or worksite
• Consider Assistive Technology and develop Home Programs
• Instruct/train others in the use of specialized equipment and/or techniques
• Collaborate with other members of the education team, including parents

Provide general information and staff development on topics such as early development, handwriting, sensory processing, and adapting equipment.

Participate in departmental meetings and staff development opportunities.

Use computer-based software to maintain documentation requirements.

Starting Salary $50,362.00-$88,129.00/year

191 Days Per School Year

10-Month School Year
