General Description

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance with middle school mathematics interventions at one of Chesterfield County's middle schools.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide direct math support for students in Grades 6-8 in a small group setting
  • Push in to math classrooms to provide additional support in a small group setting or provide after school tutoring opportunities
  • Teach explicit skills to improve mathematical outcomes
  • Provide students positive and constructive feedback
  • Work with classroom teachers to implement provided tutoring plans

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of middle school mathematics
  • Demonstrated ability to tutor and supervise students
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance if clarification is needed
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, and staff and to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility without direct supervision

Requirements

College student working toward a bachelor's degree or higher.

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation
  • State Police Criminal History Investigation
  • Child Protective Services ( CPS) Investigation
  • Tuberculosis Screening/Test
