RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  1. Conduct psychological assessments, which include summary and formative analyses.
  2. Generate functional behavioral assessments and behavioral intervention plans.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of developmental stages of children, including appropriate learning activities and behavioral expectations.
  4. Assist in the process of placing students in special education services by appropriately defining disability categories; Consult and assist in the development and maintenance of the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  5. Consult with parents and private and public practitioners regarding assessment findings and student progress.
  6. Work constructively with child study team members, special education teachers, principals, and other staff specialists.
  7. Assist in the process of designing and implementing learning services.
  8. Demonstrate awareness of current psychological techniques, test instruments, assessment procedures, and learning materials.
  9. Knowledge of state and federal rules affecting students with disabilities.
  10. Knowledge of Multi-tiered System of Supports.
  11. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
  12. Must be able to lift 60 pounds.



TRAINING: Ability to plan and carry out appropriate individualized assessments to meet the varied needs of students, including utilization of appropriate diagnostic information; understanding and utilization of individualized education programs; ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

Qualifications : 1. ESA certificate with endorsement in school psychology.
2. Familiarity with general areas of curriculum.
3. Experience conducting test administrations and interpretation.
4. Familiarity with state and federal law regarding education for students with disabilities.
5. Experience working with children of various disabilities, designing appropriate services, and developing strategies for service modifications.
