Job Description

The Opportunity

The Contingent Staffing Program Manager is the "go-to" person for all contingent talent needs for specific region(s). S/he is responsible for ensuring that all Contingent Classroom Facilitator candidates at KIPP Texas have a positive experience throughout the hiring and onboarding process and that the KIPP Texas Contingent Staffing program is a pipeline for teacher or administrative full-time roles. S/he leads the recruiting, hiring, training, retention, and support of KIPP Texas' Contingent Classroom Facilitators to ensure all campuses have daily absences filled with a high-quality substitute. S/he trains Contingent Classroom Facilitators to prepare them for the classroom and then actively monitors and ensures high quality performance of substitutes during their assignments.

Key Responsibilities

The Contingent Staffing Program Manager will:

Manage the recruiting process for Contingent Classroom Facilitators
  • Aggressively monitor applicant pools to ensure that there are enough strong candidates to fill vacancies and adjust actions accordingly
  • Steward quality prospects forward in the KIPP screening process for the sub program Attend and host recruitment events
  • Track high quality candidates. Increase regular touchpoints in order to strategically engage in prospect meetings for individuals who qualify for high needs roles
  • Create meaningful partnerships with local organizations and schools that yield content-specific candidates
  • Partner with the regional staffing team to identify trends and adjust approaches to recruitment
  • Partner effectively with hiring managers and staffing partners to move subs into vacancies, filling at least 50% of mid-year vacancies with Contingent Classroom Facilitators
  • Develop mechanisms to ensure hiring managers are able to hold final interviews with candidates within 2 weeks
  • Train substitutes on basics of KIPP culture and systems and classroom management expectations
Manage Contingent Staffing Facilitators, including performance and service satisfaction
  • Manage substitute teacher pool in the Frontline system, ensuring all substitutes are available to work for their assigned region(s)
  • Fill 95% of substitute requests in the assigned region(s)
  • Regularly track and monitor Contingent Classroom Facilitators and their performance by confirming principal and teacher expectations are being met
  • Conduct progressive discipline with substitutes who are not meeting performance expectations
  • Review and approve substitute teacher timesheets in a daily basis at the respective campuses where assignment was complete
  • Collect feedback from principals, teachers, and admin assistants by visiting campus, observing Contingent Classroom Facilitators, and informally soliciting feedback as well as holding focus groups and sending surveys
  • Problem solve where needed to resolve concerns from parents, students, staff or administration
  • Monitor overall progress for the region and communicate updates to the Regional Staffing Team
  • Train campus staff on how to use Frontline to request and assign substitutes and submit feedback on substitutes who fulfill assignments on campus
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in staffing, project management, and/or education
  • Located in Austin, Texas

Compensation and Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary scale, a part of KIPP Texas' competitive benefits options, KIPP offers all employees an $0 HMO plan for the employee only.
