PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide effective leadership to school faculty, staff, and students in all
areas of the school's program and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes the interviewing, hiring and staffing of teachers and staff at assigned Summer Academy building site. Demonstrates exemplary skill in the use of district technology tools (I-Ready, Illuminate, Infinite Campus, Edgenuity) to advance student learning. Demonstrates the ability to effectively use data walls, data teams, in customizing learning by evaluating individual academic global plan for students. Visits all classrooms on a regular basis to assess the quality of instruction; makes recommendations regarding instructional methods and procedures that facilitate effective instruction. Provides leadership for developing and implementing new and innovative methods for improving the delivery of instruction. Assists teachers in locating available resources based on student instructional needs which can be used to supplement adopted texts and the development of instructional materials designed to meet specific needs and objectives. Provides leadership in making regular systematic and accurate appraisals of teachers' instructional practices through scheduled classroom observations by monitoring and assessing teachers' professional performance. Advises and assists teachers with classroom management and resolution of interpersonal relations conflicts between student/student and teacher/student. Provides leadership in developing a positive school climate and harmonious multicultural, multiethnic educational environment. Schedule and conducts regular grade-level meetings and scheduled staff development for the purpose of facilitating teacher interaction, curriculum development and improved classroom performance. Work with paraprofessionals to increase their abilities to assist teachers and students. Establish and supervises procedures for the security of school facilities and safety of all personnel and students. Assist the Attendance Secretary in assuring attendance has been entered daily in the SIS. Responsible for verifying teacher grades have been entered into the SIS before checking teachers at the end of the summer session; including verifying entry of grades with the Registrars. Responsible for check out and check in of student gift card incentives; to students, families, and to Finance. All other duties as assigned.
