New Haven Public Schools in Connecticut has immediate openings for a part-time Music Teacher grades Pre K - 8 .
Qualifications: CT (049) Music Educator preK-12 certification required. (Candidates actively seeking endorsement may apply)
Responsibilities include:
• Teaching general music to elementary and middle school students as an hourly worker (Not to exceed 19.5 hours weekly)
o Engaging all students
o Planning and implementing authentic, music making lessons with a foundational emphasis on singing, playing music and creating
• Preparing students for school based and community based performances.
Candidate will be expected to:
• Create lessons and units that align with the National Core Arts Standards and the district Music Scope and Sequence
• Work as part of a music team
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary Arts team
• Collaborate with district departmental colleagues and participate in all NHPS music initiatives
• Collaborate with school and district colleagues for meaningful and purposeful integrated, cross-content instruction
• Differentiate instruction to ensure that all students learn
• Actively contribute to professional learning community and support efforts to achieve school wide student performance goals
Starting at $15.00, Rate of pay is $32/hour for certified teachers, $22.50/hour for non-certified instructors with a Bachelors' Degree.
