Teacher - Bilingual/ESL, 6th-12th grades (Part-Time) - East

Do you have an unwavering BELIEF and drive for ALL students to develop the capacity and skills to be community, college and career ready? This is an ESL Teacher and direct service position working with students as well as cycles of coservice/coaching with teachers. Our desired candidate will possess the following qualities: -Experience teaching linguistically talented students learning English and grade level content simultaneously -Experience in an urban setting -Advocacy and Leadership for linguistically talented students and families -Strong background in team/co-teaching AND creating linguistically and culturally responsive environments -Have experience teaching English as a Second Language in content and literacy environments -Builds effective peer and collegial relationships -Fluency with the WIDA Framework, standards, tools and data -Flexibility to provide direct service to students as well as goal directed coaching to teachers to implement the Comprehensive Literacy Model -Fluency with the CCSS in ELA and MATH for English Learners -Ability to build individualized English language learning plans and carry out accommodations to instruction and assessment ABOUT EAST ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL: https://sdw.waukesha.k12.wi.us/o/eastas/page/welcome MISSION STATEMENT: East builds a caring and supportive learning environment for all as we become lifelong learners through shared community experiences, a rigorous curriculum, and opportunities to thrive as we develop into our best selves.
