Student Recruitment & Enrollment Manager

Prescott Valley Charter School, an accredited K-9th charter school, seeks a highly effective candidate to lead student recruitment and retention for a highly performing charter school. The successful candidate will be an engaging professional with a demonstrated track-record of effective community organizing and advocacy.

We educate over 400, K-9th grade students in the mountain community of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and plan to expand to serve grades K-12 in the coming years. Our classical instructional model is based on the historical goal of education: To teach children to think and learn for themselves by providing the tools necessary for success, while fostering deep levels of inquiry that ultimately lead every child to discover his/her own truth and beauty.

Position Description

The Student Recruitment Manager is responsible for developing and implementing an effective student recruitment and retention plan at PVCS. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations. Ultimately, this person's success will be measured by PVCS achieving its short and long-term student enrollment goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
 

  • Develop, manage and track a comprehensive year-round recruitment and retention plan to engage and attract students and families to stay with PVCS or join the PVCS family. Work in collaboration with Director of Operations to understand the specific student recruitment and retention needs of our campus and respond by developing effective, measurable strategies to attract and retain students. As part of the recruitment/retention plan, ensure the longevity of relationships with key community partners including preschools/daycare operators, faith leaders, and other non-profit organizations. Manage the development, distribution and maintenance of student recruitment marketing materials, website, social media, etc. (in English and Spanish) Develop clear and usable recruitment guidelines and strategies. Ensure implementation of initiatives to generate leads and maximize applications - including but not limited to canvassing, tabling, and presenting at partnership organizations Whenever possible, mobilize and invest students, parents, alumni, and staff to support student recruitment efforts Lead weekly student recruitment call, including review of relevant data, progress against student recruitment/retention plan, and progress against yearly 100th day membership/enrollment goals Initiate lotteries as needed by reading scripts, answering parent questions, and handle all post-lottery logistics (e.g., mailing acceptance letters, and keeping families waiting to start school engaged until they start school) Support prospective and returning families by responding to leads and answering inquiries from families, conduct tours, hold events, and maintain communication throughout the open enrollment process Monitor enrollment dashboards daily to assess recruiting and enrollment "gaps to fill;" work on getting students to re-register or register new families to 100% completion

 

 


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
 

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills Experience adapting to community dynamics Ability to manage multiple priorities and a variable workload with minimal supervision Proficiency with navigating and updating Synergy and other applicable student information systems, and editing website in Word Press through collaboration with IT department Excellent organizational skills Strong work ethic, initiative, sense of urgency, and the ability to work within a team, and ability to think like an owner Comfortable using data to make decisions and adjust strategy Familiarity with the charter school movement and classical education Experience working and building strong relationships with people and diverse communities. A passionate commitment to decision-making that is in the best interest of the school and its students

 

 

Working Conditions

 

Majority of work is performed in a general office environment. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. The ability to travel in the quad-city area and occasionally throughout Yavapai County. Also requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.

PVCS teachers are hired based upon mastery of the academic discipline taught and ability to convey that knowledge to young people. 

Certification for teachers is a requirement in Arizona, though not necessary for initial hire.

The school will assist candidates with the certification process, with the goal of attaining certification within an initial 3-year teaching term, at no cost to the teacher.
