About Detroit Cristo Rey
Located in the heart of Mexican Town in Southwest Detroit, The Detroit Cristo Rey High School (DCRHS) is a diverse learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service. A rigorous and personalized college preparatory curriculum integrated with a corporate work
study experience prepares students to succeed in college and in life. DCRHS is one of 38 high schools across the country associated with the Cristo Rey Network . The Network began more than 25 years ago with an education/work study model that has proven to be universally successful. Working at DCRHS is UNLIKE working in a traditional high school environment. As an independent private school, students are not placed at DCRHS, they choose us!
Faculty and staff are the backbone of the school, and the development of relationships are foundational to the success of each student. The success of the program is demonstrated by the 100% college acceptance since our inaugural
graduating class of 2012.

General Description
Working closely with the President, the Director helps develop the strategic vision to foster generous, broad-based philanthropic support for the school and its mission. The Director is also responsible for the successful implementation of that vision, by cultivating and stewarding relationships with individual, corporate and foundation donors, designing and directing distinctive events, and generating excitement about a range of ways to contribute to the growth and success of the school.

The Director will work closely with all internal stakeholders as well as donors, business partners, grant and foundation leaders, and key community leaders to meet annual revenue goals. It is critical that relationships and communications, both internal and external, are well managed at all times. The Director will also have a primary role in all "special" fundraising campaigns - such as a Capital Campaign and ensure that associated targets are met. In addition, financial activities related to all types of fundraising will need to be properly accounted for and this position will work closely with the Finance Team to ensure accurate accounting and reporting. Other tasks and responsibilities as required may be requested.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and people skills. The Director must be self-directed, work with limited daily supervision or instruction, and embrace and drive continuous operational improvements. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities is required. The candidate will be motivated by the mission of the school and its impact on the families that we serve.
