Full Time 4th Grade Classroom Teacher
St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School is seeking a full-time 4th grade classroom teacher to teach and share his/her enthusiasm for learning with students. This position will be for a self-contained 4th grade classroom, with the teacher responsible for teaching all subjects including a Catholic religion class.
The teacher candidate should be able to:
*Promote the mission and vision of St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School.
*Develop and implement a rigorous, standards-based curriculum.
*Create a consistently high level of active student engagement and learning.
*Apply differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement for all students
in a learner-centered and collaborative environment.
*Develop and employ effective methods of evaluation that are directly related to curriculum
objectives, concepts, and skills taught to evaluate student progress consistently and effectively.
*Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process including iPads, Chromebooks, and
online instructional platforms. Understand that the need to teach virtually may arise depending
on state and local conditions/mandates.
*Maintain a consistent disciplinary approach which promotes self-direction and confidence by
setting high standards for student behavior and manages inappropriate behavior effectively.
*Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.
*Work effectively with all staff members and build positive relationships with students and
parents.
*Cooperate with school administration to complete additional administrative, operational, and professional responsibilities and duties as needed.
Qualifications:
*Valid Michigan teaching certificate with the appropriate elementary-level endorsement.
*Possess or be willing to work towards receiving a catechist certificate issued by the
Archdiocese of Detroit.
*Complete fingerprinting, background check, and the Protecting God's Children workshop
