Job Description
Job Title: District Data Report Specialist
Location: District Information Technology (IT)
Job Group: Non-Union
Pay Grade: Non-Exempt, Grade 26
Reports to: District Data Manager
Summary: Responsible for providing data, reports, and information to the Superintendent, Administrators, and
others as needed. This position helps the IT Data Team with managing the data integrity and security of the
District's student information system and other assigned systems. Provides system support to end-users and
implements the District's plan for instructional and administrative programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for special Central Office reports assignments. Gathers data together to prepare and make
reports of district data for the Central Office executive administrative teams.
2. Oversees the PowerSchool Unified Insights data reporting system. Develops, modifies, and maintain the
system for the benefit of District Administrators.
3. Provides first-line support for the district's student information system, such as:
a. Importing and exporting reliable data;
b. Updating, editing, and processing student record changes; and
c. Updating report card and transcript information.
4. Provides first-line support of third-party data-related systems, inclusive of, but not limited to:
a. The online registration system,
b. Learning Management System,
c. Assessment applications (e.g., FitnessGram, FastBridge Learning, SBAC TIDE), and
d. Clever application.
5. Works with the District Data Manager by recommending changes to data systems to improve
District operational efficiency.
6. Assists with the implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance and validation of data-related systems.
7. Audits and maintains data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and quality.
8. Provides training on relevant District data programs on an as-needed basis or by special request
of the supervisor.
9. Assists with the creation and maintenance of Data Team process documentation.
10. Remains current on the assigned subject matter. Attends and actively participates in all District
technology-based meetings and in external training as needed or requested.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

Education and/or Experience: An Associate's Degree in data management or equivalent work experience.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, data report writing, and creation experience are required, and some experience with
database management is preferred but could be waived. Experience in a school setting performing secretarial,
registrar, or student data-related duties preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret operating, technical, and procedure manuals,
maintenance instruction, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information with the use of proper grammar (orally and
written) and to respond to questions from others.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply work with general mathematical concepts such as fractions, decimals,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and
to construct and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability
to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with
several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities: Computer experience in a Windows PC environment. Excellent organizational
and task management skills. Ability to manipulate data text files, including .csv files and using Excel tools or
like software for importing and exporting between data systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness
of all District requirements and School Board policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary and occasionally
move from location to location. The employee is regularly required talk, see, and hear. The incumbent must

be required to lift objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth
perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The incumbent will work in an open office environment where the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
Constant interaction on the phone and in person is expected. Some travel may be required.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated at least annually by the District Data Manager according to the stated
performance objectives and the qualities and characteristics contained on the evaluation form.
