Senior Financial Analyst (Remote)

NWEA has a new opening for Senior Financial Analyst. This is a full-time opportunity with competitive compensation and a generous benefits package. Position summary

In the Senior Financial Analyst role, you will partner with leaders throughout the company to create financial models in support of sales, resource investment decisions, and business strategy; evaluate pricing at the strategic level and prepare product line margin analysis; prepare and maintain a variety of scheduled and ad hoc reports for management review, including cost analysis, operating expense trends; and business plan development. This role requires a high level of communication and interaction with all areas of the organization. The person in this position will be a Finance Business Partner to one or multiple business segments.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration of budgets, planning and forecasting activities and various month end close procedures.
  • Analyze the organization's profitability components in new and different ways. Use financial and operational data to drive improvements.
  • Support the business in understanding the costs of their products, including development, sales, and support costs.
  • Further the organization's understanding of the profitability of current and proposed product portfolios.
  • Assist with business case analysis of new products, scenario analysis, and business change opportunities; analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment and pricing decisions.
  • Work with all levels of the company to become an internal expert on our organization's cost and revenue drivers as well as key operational components.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for Executive management, budgets, and other planning and forecasting activities
  • Other operational and production duties as assigned to ensure success of the Finance team and the organization.

Skills and abilities
  • Working ability with Adaptive Insights and or NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Exceptional skills in partnering with key stakeholders across functional areas, and in developing and maintaining long term supportive relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis, plus the ability to creatively apply financial knowledge based on context of the business problem.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office software with specific expertise in Excel.
  • An ability to understand the business dynamics related to our product delivery and business operations, and their impact on financial results.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex ideas with clarity.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with many priority changes working on multiple projects simultaneously

Education and experience
  • A four-year bachelor's degree with emphasis in Finance, Economics, or Accounting is required. A Master's Degree in Business or Economics is preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years in a commercial business environment as a Financial Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in the business dynamics of the EdTech, technology, or assessment industries is a plus.
