K-1 ELL Teacher
The Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School (PPACS) seeks a full-time ELL Teacher to join the English Language Development (ELD) team at our East campus located at 2407 South Broad Street. At PPACS, students engage in a unique educational program designed to grow the next generation of creative leaders. Our teachers are creative, passionate, professional educators that believe every student has specific intelligences that must be nurtured and that all students should have an equal opportunity to achieve their own innate potential.

We know the importance of cultivating a supportive work culture, and educators are encouraged to share ideas and experiences in the field. Our teachers are given 90 minutes each week to meet as teams and have access to the latest Apple technology and resources to compliment lesson plans, presentations, and more. Candidates with past experience at private and parochial schools will be given credit for those years of teaching as we welcome all qualified, passionate educators to apply to our open positions today!
Ideal candidates will:
- Provide and teach language instruction to English Learners (ELs) using a variety of instructional strategies
- Provide professional learning for colleagues specific to the needs of ELs
- Modify and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all ELs
- Build relationships within school community (parents, guardians, and community stakeholders)
- Actively participate in professional learning
- Use data to improve instruction, student growth, and achievement
- Experience working in an effective inclusion and/or co-teaching classroom
- Working knowledge of WIDA ELD standards in order to differentiate instruction
Qualifications:
- Active PA English as a Second Language Program Specialist certification is required
- Additional certifications preferred
- Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required

Candidates must either have an official PA state teacher certification, not an emergency certification, or be working towards their official certification.
