Position Summary: Seeking candidates with experience and/or knowledge of integrated therapy services, augmentative communication, and trans-disciplinary team approaches. This position is responsible for identification of needs and delivery of integrated therapy services to students who require speech therapy intervention in accordance with all school district, state and federal requirements (as applicable). The Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) collaborates with staff to promote the highest practicable physical, mental, and psycho-social well being for the students using trans-disciplinary team approaches.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher degree with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech-language and hearing science; OR possess certification of clinical competence from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association.
  • Valid Alaska Type C special services certificate with a speech endorsement, or able to secure Alaska Type C certificate upon hire.
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a school environment.
  • Exhibits sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required as part of the facility team.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) desired.
  • School-based experience desired.
  • Experience working with children having a broad spectrum of disabilities.
  • Experience in providing support to regular education teachers in accommodating special needs of students in an inclusive environment is desired.
