SENIOR MANAGER, ASSESSMENT AND DATA DRIVEN INSTRUCTION

Salary Range: $86,173 - $99,933

E ssential Functions and Objectives:

R esponsible for strategic insight and management of programs and initiatives that affects the district in achieving its long term and overreaching goals. Leads the day to day operations of a broader strategic function and shapes the framework of DPS in a forward thinking and dynamic manner. Primary emphasis is achieving results by building engagement and empowering their teams. Manages district wide initiatives and high impact teams, with a greater span of control.

R esponsible for improving student achievement by setting a local assessment strategy and vision collaboratively with all stakeholders across all content areas (Humanities, STEAM). Leads teams of specialists who build assessments and manage the online assessment platform. Delivers school support, including professional learning and coaching, on the district's assessment strategy and data driven instruction.

- Collaboratively develops the District assessment vision and strategic plan for opt-in schools; develops systems for progress monitoring and refining the strategic plan with student data and observation data.

- Directly supervises teams in their creation of assessments and professional learning sessions as well as facilitation of professional learning opportunities and interactions with schools and other central office departments.

- Collaborates across assessment teams to gain feedback on the use of assessments with the goal of continuously improving measurement methods and assessment literacy in the District; supports the administration of assessments at school sites; and creates appropriate central supports, resulting in the ability to measure accurate student results for online or offline methods.

- Co-leads the Capstone strategy, including revision of capstone assessment items and implementation of systems to ensure assessment informs instruction.

- Co-leads district professional learning and supports for data meetings.

- Leads development and delivery of professional learning for a variety of stakeholders in central office and in schools regarding assessment literacy, assessment development, Illuminate DnA, and student learning objectives (SLO); serves as assessment best practices expert on district committees and in meetings.

- Connects with a variety of partners, including the teachers' union (DCTA), accountability team, and the teacher effectiveness team (LEAP), to ensure integration of student learning objectives into other accountability systems.

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Four (4) or more years teaching relevant subject areas to include leadership experience.

- Two (2) or more years of leadership experience.

- Three (3) or more years of experience with assessment systems level leadership preferred.

- Two (2) or more years of management responsibilities.

- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

- Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail.

- Superior leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.

- Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources.

- Ability to motivate and influence others.

- Ability to effectively lead a team.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.

- Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.

- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team.

E ducation Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in education or related field required.

- Master's Degree in education preferred.
