Full Time Payroll Specialist in the Division of Business and Finance at the Caesar Rodney District Office
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Successful candidate MUST have payroll experience and have skilled experience working with Delaware Payroll Human Resources Statewide Technology (PHRST) system
- Practical experience working with Delaware First State Financial System (FSF) preferred
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel, Word, and Access
- Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-workers, District employees, State Agencies, and the private sector
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and neat in ones work
- Ability to multi-task, follow up, and meet both departmental and State deadlines
- Possess knowledge in the areas of payroll and accounts payable
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and staff
- Performance Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
- Maintaining employee personnel files and job tasks associated with that process
- Enter all payroll information into the Delaware State PHRST system based on additional hours, retroactive pay, or payroll adjustments due to staffing changes
- Process various vouchers, cash receipts, and purchase orders in FSF
- Enter employee absence(s) into Data Service Center
- Organize, purge and prepare employee files for Delaware State Archives
- Act in a courteous, considerate, and knowledgeable manner toward the public and District employees
- Field all incoming phone calls and mail for the District Finance Office
- Performs secretarial functions including but not limited to filing, copying, and shredding of documents
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Finance
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
- All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
- Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
