Deputy Director - 2022/2023 School Year (UChicago Charter School)

About UChicago Charter School: UChicago Charter School is one the oldest charter networks in the City of Chicago, founded nearly 25 years ago, in 1998, as a Chicago Public School-authorized charter school. Comprised of three campuses, UChicago services over 1,400 students in grades Prek-12th grade. UChicago Charter is a part of the Urban Education Institute, an affiliate of the University of Chicago, which also includes the UChicago Consortium on School Research, UChicago IMPACT, and Urban Teacher Education Program. UEI's four units together manifest a unique combination of impactful research and effective urban educational practice benefitting Chicago and the nation. Within the University, the Crown School of Social Work, Practice and Policy is UEI's academic home. The UCCS charter network is authorized by the Chicago Public Schools, and all UCCS campuses are in good standing per CPS' School Quality and Rating Policy, ("SQRP").

Network Mission: The University of Chicago Charter School's mission is to prepare 100% of students for college acceptance and graduation through a PreK to 12 superhighway which cultivates culturally aware critical thinkers and leaders.

Campus Overview: UCCS campuses are attendance boundary charter lottery admission schools. UCCS' two elementary campuses, NKO and Donoghue, located in North Kenwood Oakland and Bronzeville, serve approximately 800 students in grades Pre-K to 5, and UChicago's Woodlawn Campus, located in the Woodlawn Community, serves approximately 620 total students in the Middle School and High School, respectively.

Deputy Director Job Overview
The Deputy Director is the second in command to the CEO of the UChicago Charter School and will report to and support the CEO of the UChicago Charter School in all matters, with a special focus on managing all data and accountability aspects of the UCCS campuses and network.

A successful Deputy Director ("DD") will engage in supervising and improving where needed UCCS' leadership development, instructional programming, data and accountability, culture and climate and family and community engagement arenas.
