Proposal Specialist

What We Seek
Carnegie Learning is looking for a qualified Proposal Specialist who will support the end-to-end RFP strategy and process. In this role, you will be developing RFP responses and other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from prospective clients.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to develop and maintain up-to-date product boilerplate and research, evaluate, and recommend improvements to RFP process and tools. The Proposal Specialist will also author responses for business-critical writing projects that may include other written projects as required.

What Your Day Will Look Like
  • Understand Carnegie Learning products, value propositions, and competitive differentiators
  • Summarize key elements of RFPs and evaluate business case
  • Coordinate and lead go/no go meetings
  • Manage proposal-writing process and timeline
  • Maintain quality results by using templates, following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone
  • Work across the enterprise matrix to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging proposals
  • Prepare responses including writing, proofreading, graphics, binding and coordinating printing
  • Utilize RFP content management system to prepare proposals
  • Update RFP boilerplate in RFP content management system as needed
  • Participate in twice-yearly content review
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop RFP boilerplate for new products and services
  • Contribute to improvements in the RFP process
  • Perform other duties as apparent or assigned
What Should Be In Your Bookbag
  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline
  • Preferred two years of work experience in proposal support, writing, editing, communications, or proposal development; experience writing for K- 12 education a plus
  • Problem solving and deadline oriented
  • Detail-oriented, flexible and able to multitask
  • Overall pipeline project management and skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with Google Docs
  • Proficient in publishing finalized versions of responses
  • Due to the highly sensitive nature of this position and access to company records and client information, the highest degree of confidentiality and ethical behavior is required at all times
