1.0 Regular Substitute Teaching Assistant - Transit Middle School

A Regular Substitute is a teacher/Teaching Assistant who is appointed to a regular teaching/teaching assistant position in place of a regular teacher/teaching assistant who is away from his/her position on a leave of absence. (minimum of one semester; maximum of full school year)
Dates of assignment: ASAP through 6/23/23
DUTIES:

• Provide classroom support and small group instruction in AIS/ELA/Math
• Data Analysis
• Record keeping - student progress
• Plan instruction to meet student needs
• Co-teach in "push-in" setting

ESSENTIAL CORE CHARACTERISTICS:

• Successful candidate will have NYS certification in Elementary Education (B-6 preferred)
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to accurately assess student ability levels.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to enrich the curriculum in all subject areas.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to ensure that students will achieve at the highest level on State and local assessments.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to work cooperatively with a grade level team and the entire staff.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her positive attitude with students and adults.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to make meaningful connections with middle school aged children.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her willingness to provide extra help.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her willingness to participate in the school community outside the classroom.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to infuse technology into the total instructional program.
• Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to infuse character education into the total instructional program.

PREFERRED:
7-12 ELA, 7-12 Math Certifications or 7-12 Special Education
