SUMMARY:

The Accounting Payroll Associate at National Heritage Academies (NHA) will report directly to the payroll manager and will be responsible for assisting in the processing and recording of National Heritage Academies (NHA) payroll, provide timely and accurate information and participate in all aspects of the bi-weekly payroll for all exempt and non-exempt employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow guidelines and perform duties associated with the, accurate/timely, bi-weekly payroll process. Address/research employee questions and issues in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Compile payroll data and perform hourly audits throughout the pay period.
  • Record accurately and timely, manual time sheets.
  • Process changes affecting employee wages (tax exemptions, direct deposit, garnishment orders).
  • Work extensively with custom reports using Excel, queries, and Onbase to support the payroll department.
  • Assist in account reconciliations for accrual and expense accounts.
  • Assist in recording, monitoring and communicating deadlines and schedules.
  • Assist with communications and education of employees on payroll policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or minimum 2 years payroll department experience.
  • High degree of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience working with payroll software. Working knowledge of Oracle, a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
  • High degree of problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
