Job Details

CES is looking for a skilled Instructional Coach to work with teachers with job-embedded coaching. This individual will support the professional growth and development of educational staff through in-person, blended, and remote individual and group professional development and coaching activities that result in improved educator practice and student outcomes. Location: This position works across the Commonwealth with teachers assigned to Department of Youth Services (DYS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), County House of Correction (CHC) and other state and program host agencies. (Central/Southeast/Metro Regions)

  1. Ability to model effective planning, instruction, and assessment practices
  2. Support teachers with classroom management, social-emotional learning, youth development, and culturally responsive practices
  3. Provide professional development to educators that support their mastery of content knowledge, skills, and pedagogy
  4. Support the ongoing growth and development of new teachers through group and individual professional development and mentoring

What You'll Do:
  1. Implement multi-day instructional coaching continuums with all teachers
  2. Facilitate teacher implementation of high leverage practices introduced and modeled in release-day professional development sessions and Afternoon Workgroups
  3. Document coaching content and delivery using the SEIS Instructional Coaching Interaction (Google) Form
  4. Recommend structured opportunities for teachers to observe more experienced and skillful colleagues Provide and/or coordinate support for SEIS teachers in their role as special educators
  5. Co-plan and coordinate support for teacher skill development with other coaches, mentors and supervisors
  6. Provide coaching for SEIS teachers, as appropriate, in the skills and strategies related to The Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching, in a variety of educational settings

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree from accredited College or University
  2. Appropriate Massachusetts special education license for age level and population
  3. Minimum of three years teaching experience with Proficient or Exemplary evaluations
  4. Working knowledge of co-teaching in an inclusion setting
  5. Must have experience with Elementary School instruction and teaching
  6. Experience with assistive technology tools and strategies and other accommodations
  7. Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills
  8. Preferred co-teaching experience in a special education setting
  9. Preferred experience teaching in an alternative, juvenile justice, or specialized setting
  10. Preferred background in coaching, supervision of teachers
  11. Knowledge of and commitment to principles and practices of social justice, equity, and inclusion
  12. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required
  13. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Education or related field, additional teaching license in core content area


Workplace Health and Safety: CES employees working on site in DYS, DMH, DPH or CHC facilities are required to demonstrate that they have received COVID-19 vaccination.

Compensation: Instructional Coach scale is based on licensure and education. Mileage provided for travel.

FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year.
