Archbishop Williams High School, a Catholic, College Preparatory, Grades 7-12 School located in Braintree seeks a mission driven School Counselor to work closely with academic leadership, the counseling department, school nurses, and teachers in order to create a safe and supportive school environment for students and faculty. The School Counselor serves students in grades 9-12, advising a group of students through their academic and college application process all while participating in the life of the school. This position is a salaried, full-time, regular, 10-month position. The successful candidate will provide direct support for AWHS students regarding college/university applications, post-graduate plans and career planning. The Counselor will have excellent knowledge of post-secondary options for a diverse student body and work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the School Counselor to support students and families.

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide targeted post-secondary counseling to students, families and caregivers.
- Leverage professional and/or academic experience, expertise and relationships to enhance work with AWHS families including organizing informational sessions, back to school evenings, test prep sessions and other general college information needs as they arise.
- Assist standardized testing efforts including the PSAT, SAT and AP Exams.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' application materials, college applications, acceptances, matriculations, scholarships and aid awarded.
- Complete comprehensive letters of recommendation to assist with college application efforts.
- Participate in professional development opportunities including but not limited visiting college campuses, participating in webinars, and attending NACAC and NEACAC based events.
- Participate in on- and off-campus events as well as virtual gatherings related to the college admission process.
- Masters degree in counseling, guidance, social work, psychology, or related field
- Previous experience with the college admissions process is not required but strongly encouraged
