Job Description: St. Mary's School is seeking an enthusiastic and highly talented social studies teacher. The successful candidate will teach social studies to students in grades 6-8 and science to students in grades 6-7, and will also be responsible for homeroom and other duties as assigned by the principal. The candidate should possess a BA/BS degree (Master degree preferred) and state certification and have at least 3 years of experience.
The successful candidate must also:
- demonstrate effective planning skills by preparing lessons aligned to state standards
- effectively integrate technology into instruction and learning activities
- develop and use multiple forms of assessment and evaluation to ensure student growth
- establish a system of classroom management which promotes self-direction, self-regulation, and a positive self-image
- maintain an active and engaging learning environment
- communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration
