HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS SUPERVISOR (3 Positions)

These positions are open to Current BPS Administrators

  1. Oversees interscholastic athletics at the high school.
  2. Provides leadership for the school-based athletic program, including oversight of organization, scheduling, practice, coaching, business functions and safety measures.
  3. Works collaboratively with the school-based athletic director.
  4. Serves as a conduit between the athletic program and the immediate community, including public relations and the promotion of the school's interscholastic program.
  5. Provides leadership for development of effective strategies to ensure that Title IX requirements are understood and addressed.
  6. Budget and Procurement Management
    1. Operates the athletics program within the limits of the budget allocated by the district and in full compliance with the district's standard operating procedures.
    2. Identifies equipment and supply needs for the athletics program, in conjunction with the school-based athletic director.
    3. Identifies transportation for athletic contests whenever necessary, in conjunction with the school-based athletic director.
    4. Prepares and enters order forms for equipment, supplies and transportation, in accordance with the district's procurement procedures and timelines.
    5. Maintains inventories of equipment and disbursement records for supplies, as part of an accountability system to ensure proper, responsible use of allocated resources.
    6. Institutes fiscal controls to ensure integrity in the acquisition, safeguarding and distribution of athletic goods and services.
  7. Plans and organizes staff development sessions for in-service training, as required, in consultation with the athletic director.
  8. Maintains a professional working relationship with all coaches and appropriate personnel.
  9. Makes certain that coaching personnel complete student accident reports per established guidelines immediately after an injury occurs.
  10. Promotes good will and public relations among parents, coaches, school athletic director and school administration.
  11. Attends all league Athletic Directors' meetings.
  12. Utilizes relevant data to encourage student participation in interscholastic sports and evaluate the effectiveness of each program.
  13. Maintains all required records and documentation.
  14. Performs other duties consistent with the nature of the position.

Stipend: $10,000
