The middle school math teacher is responsible for the math instruction; curriculum development in the area of mathematics; and managing mathematics competitions throughout the year for our middle school grades.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to…

  • Providing academic subject instruction in math ranging from Pre-Algebra, Geometry and Algebra 1 and 2. Planning for class activities, including preparing units and daily lessons; identifying and gathering materials needed for instruction; providing timely feedback to students to ensure proficiency is obtained; prepare and grade a variety of assessments and communicate assessment results in a timely manner to students. Confer with teachers about cross-curricular opportunities. Communicate with parents about student progress during parent-teacher conferences and written narratives Maintain a digital gradebook Organize and upload assignments to Google classroom Exhibit enthusiasm for mathematics

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in the field of mathematics and preferable mathematics education; Master’s degree preferred.

Professionalism:

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, leadership, collaboration, and independent thinking. Must possess strong classroom management skills
