REPORTS TO: Principal (and to the Senior Instructor (Officer))
SALARY SCHEDULE: Military Instructional Payscale
WORK DAYS: 229
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education Level: High School Diploma. Must obtain an Associate's degree within five years of employment from an accredited institution. Preferred : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience, Skill and Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field (JROTC Certification)
- Performs regular teaching tasks in a multi-subject JROTC curriculum as required by state and district requirements, including:
- Provides Instruction;
- Assesses and Encourages Student Progress; and
- Manages the Learning
- Follows the General Duties and Responsibilities for teachers in the state of Georgia as outlined in the Classroom Teacher job
- Instructs students in military
- Writes/updates lesson plans for multi-subject
- Ensures proper maintenance and physical security of all government furnished equipment/materials, including the cleaning of
- Assists with planning and carrying out extra-curricular activities for JROTC Unit (including color/honor guard ceremonies, drill team and rifle team competitive meets, field trips, mini boot camps, ship cruises, )
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, semi-annual, annual, and periodic reports on program administration and
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge on all aspects of the military
- Assesses JROTC program to assure program objectives are
- Attends military-sponsored seminars to keep abreast of new requirements of program management.
- Makes annual presentation on JROTC Program to all students at feeder schools.
- Takes courses of instruction to improve teaching
- Counsels students in the JROTC
- Maintains contact with civic groups to obtain their recognition of the JROTC
- Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization and the safety of students.
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 229 days. Salary will be determined based on factors as prescribed by the Department of the Army and district policy.

There is frequent use of computers, telephone, and other standard office equipment, which includes reading, listening, writing, or speaking. There are few exceptional physical or sensory demands.
Other Heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds. Physical exertion and mobility related to drill and other military training techniques.
