Responsibilities
l. Under teacher direction, assist the student or students in a range of instructional and social settings - individualized, large group, cooperative learning groups, playground, self-contained or mainstream classes. Foster student independence/reliance on self and assistance from peers, as needed. Enforce school rules and regulations and handle disciplinary problems fairly and firmly reporting serious infractions to classroom teacher and/or building administrator. Carry out other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years of college or equivalent two years experience working with children.
2. Superior interpersonal skills with parents and staff.
3. Proven behavior management skills preferred.
4. Experience assisting students in inclusion/mainstream models and in self- contained settings preferred.
5. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with classroom teacher.
