DLCS/Library Coordinator, K-6 Curriculum Leader

2022-2023 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current classroom teacher with a strong interest in curriculum
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience
  • Demonstrated content area knowledge as appropriate to the position
  • Willingness to perform the responsibilities listed below
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as appropriate


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Curriculum Leaders will receive a stipend to exercise the responsibility of promoting the consistent implementation of the district curriculum initiatives and programs in each assigned school through professional collaboration and communication in the following ways:
  • Meet or work on initiatives within and beyond the school day (approximately 2-3 hours a week)
  • Meet deadlines established by the Assistant Superintendent/Director of Teaching & Learning
  • Represent colleagues as a member of district wide curriculum committees
  • Organize and participate in grade level, school, and district meetings centered on teaching and learning
  • Plan, participate, and present relevant and innovative professional development to grade level and/or school colleagues
  • Assist in the development, review, revision, and distribution of curriculum, resources, and materials
  • Regularly provide oral and written updates to the administrators and colleagues in a variety of ways including staff meetings, newsletters, email, informal meetings, and other methods as appropriate
  • Distribute curriculum updates, materials, and other information to colleagues as designated or requested
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote the use of differentiated instructional strategies and materials to support district's vision for teaching and learning
  • Participate in selection and implementation of new programs, materials, resources, devices, and strategies
  • Assist in determining needs for program growth
  • Consult with colleagues to gather feedback and other appropriate information
  • Assist in the mentoring of new teachers
  • Order, manage, and distribute materials and supplies related to content area
  • Plan and implement curriculum nights as appropriate
  • Assist in the development and accounting of budget
  • Other duties may be assigned by the building principal or Assistant Superintendent/Director of Teaching & Learning


SALARY: According to the FEA Contract Stipend position

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Schools

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 22-23 School Year
