Position Definition: The Application and Data Supervisor provides application support services and is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Data Integrity Team and Billing System and providing support to various applications supported by the MIS Department

Relationship: The Application and Data Supervisor shall be directly responsible to the Application Manager.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of software support experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with systems applications.

Authority: The Application and Data Supervisor will have the authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty/responsibility at acceptable standards. In accordance with both state and/or federal law, reasonable accommodations will be considered upon employee request.

Essential :
  • Supervises and manages the daily operations of the MIS Data Integrity Team and ACCESS Billing Coordinator.
  • Manages daily projects of the MIS Data Integrity Department.
  • Analyzes customer requests and accurately reports to MIS Director and Applications Manager.
  • Manages CATS, CATSIEP, and NEW CATSIEP systems.
  • Manages SPS Billing systems and executing functions as deemed necessary..
  • Understands and utilizes PIMS and PennData Manuals
  • Schedules educational sessions - dates, locations, participants, etc.
  • Provides training for CLIU #21 staff and district personnel on the use of MIS provided software solutions to include, but not limited to, student management and financial application.
  • Assists in preparing training materials for MIS staff and the district community.
  • Develops training materials to facilitate the user's learning process.
  • Prepares the necessary support materials, as appropriate, for above indicated spheres of training.
  • Communicates with customers via telephone.
  • Performs data maintenance on customer sites.
  • Maintains accurate records of activities.
  • Accurately tests software and reports to MIS Director and Applications Manager.
  • Serves as a resource for the MIS staff for issues involving program modification.
  • Models complete confidentiality of school records, student records, employee records, and student applications.
  • Manages and maintains the legacy report writing utilities.
  • Evaluates and modifies existing programs/procedures to specific needs of the users.
  • Provides timely schedules of all due dates and processing dates well in advance to all customers and monitors schedules to make sure our customers adhere to all deadlines.
  • Manages user definition and access procedure to the applications.

Secondary :
  • Presents information about CLIU #21 programs at meetings and conferences, using appropriate technology to support the presentation.
  • Research new products and accurately reports findings.
