Through a holistic approach, the Knapp Therapeutic Day School creates an inclusive therapeutic learning community centered around empowering student to reach their full potential.

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Principal, the School Nurse will provide direct care, consultation, health compliance monitoring, teaching & care coordination to clients and staff within Knapp School & Yeshiva. This person will:

  • Provides and/or delegates direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students and staff including nursing assessment, identifying health problems, making referrals for diagnosis and treatment, recommending educational modifications, providing follow-up and evaluation, and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Manages school health records.
  • Writes the health component of the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Develops and maintains current health care plans for students who need special nursing interventions during the school day.


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required
  • Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
  • Able to successfully complete the physical and testing requirements Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Ukeru training (Agency provided)
