DESCRIPTION:
The Computer Technician's role is to provide technical leadership and support to the schools of East St. Louis District 189.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer Competent with 2 years' experience
- Associate Degree from Community College or Technical College
- Other qualifications as the Director of Technology/Media finds appropriate
- Distribute equipment to appropriate staff, as required
- Assemble computer equipment, as needed
- Assist with ordering supplies for classroom computers and printers in building classrooms
- Distribute computer supplies and software when Media Driver is absent
- Assist in ordering network materials and software
- Assist in the development and implementation of staff development programs for respective buildings
- Troubleshoot and repair computers district-wide, as appropriate
- Maintain information and record of malfunctioning computers and repairs
- Install software programs and train teachers, as appropriate
- Help organize and conduct technology related workshops and training sessions, as appropriate
- Report to the Director of Technology/Media computer or software problems that require outside support or administrative input
- Maintain a positive attitude toward job related growth and improvement
- Lift seventy-five (75) pounds on occasion as necessary, appropriate, or as directed by and administrator
- Maintain positive public relations with the community, staff and students
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology
