Objective:
To help broaden a student's horizons through a one-to-one tutoring relationship or through small group instruction.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Responsibilities:
Cordinate lesson plans with teachers based on the needs and interests of the student.
Respect the student by involving him/her in decisions about the learning process.
Encourage the student by praising him/her and by showing a positive attitude about learning.
Guide the student in his/her understanding of American culture.
Knowledge of second language acquisition models
Experience working with students in a school setting preferred and/or demonstrated ability to make connections and provide academic support for such students.
Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
Substitute for classrooms as needed.
Schedule:
Hours may vary depending on student/program needs but shall never exceed 19.5 hours per week.
Hourly Rate: $22.50
