Job Summary

Oversees the establishment, development, and maintenance of District Magnet School Programs; includes marketing, recruitment, and enrollment; and lottery and program development and integrity.

Essential Functions

1. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the magnet application procedures and magnet lottery.
2. Coordinates extensive campaign for student recruitment, marketing, and advertising. Publishes annual magnet program catalogue. Conducts face-to-face and community information sessions.
3. Assists in the development of magnet school budgets. Tracks operating, capital, and federal fund expenditures.
4. Leads the team responsible for Magnet/Choice Lead Teacher Plan, including the Choice College. Updates and disseminates Choice Lead Teacher tool kit annually.
5. Supervises and trains assigned staff, conducts performance appraisals, makes employment and discipline recommendations, and coordinates work assignments.
6. Leads district magnet programs including plan development, implementation, monitoring, and improvement. Identifies teacher training needs and curriculum development.
7. Serves as liaison with external marketing and advertising agencies including requests for proposals.
8. Maintains and updates online application annually.
9. Serves as liaison for Magnet Programs with Transportation, SIS, ESE, Purchasing, district departments, schools, and the community to foster magnet program implementation.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years experience in public school setting with a broad knowledge of magnet programs. Administrative experience required. Demonstrated ability to establish goals, manage projects, and design, develop, and implement programs. Must have good analytical and technology skills. Must have ability to manage large budgets.

Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in any area.
