Description of Service Opportunity:
The Music Ensemble Music Director reports to the Visual and Performing Arts Director and Department. The primary responsibilities entail conducting weekly rehearsals, conducting additional rehearsals as necessary, directing the Ensemble's performances, plus any necessary planning and administration. The Ensemble may also participate in an Ensembles Concert in the fall, spring, and other projects and programs.
Minimum Requirements/Job Qualifications:
Produces and directs musical performances for school and public performances, adhering to safety guidelines and creating the production calendar in collaboration with school and VPA department.
Applies a social justice approach and equity lens in all aspects of the process.
Collaborates and works professionally with other music directors and ensembles when partnering.
Designs and conducts recruitment/outreach programs to attract young musicians.
Rehearses with students to ensure they master parts.
Coordinates with VPA department for necessary support staff such as additional musicians, accompanists/etc. Must adhere to formal process before anyone is permitted to begin work.
Contract Dates:
September 5, 2022 through June 16, 2023
Contract Amount
Flat Rate $2,275.00
