HOURS/FTE: This position is 5 hours per day, 9 months per year and is located at River Ridge Elementary.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is part of the KSFSA bargaining unit.
ASSIGNMENT: Responsibilities include heating and serving student and staff meals and cleanup as required; working with principal, staff and students for fast, efficient methods of school meal service; completing daily report and following procedures for banking; keeping accurate records; following work assignments and maintaining work station; demonstrating the ability to work with fellow employees; following preparation and service methods and food handling techniques to ensure acceptable standards; follows and maintains proper food safety, sanitation and temperature control procedures; and participating in preparation and service of meals planned for special activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current, permanent KSD employee in the KSFSA bargaining unit or a food service substitute.
- High school diploma or GED.
- SNA (School Nutrition Association) certification or be willing and able to obtain certification within one year of employment.
- Current food handlers permit.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion or actively pursuing completion of basic food and nutrition services training program.
- Previous food service experience.
- Knowledge of proper food handling practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation standards related to food handling.
- Ability to handle cash receipts and operate a point of sale computer terminal.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Must have good communication skills and strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with food service staff, other employees, and students.
