E ssential Functions and Objectives:

F unctional responsibility for assisting and coordinating the life cycle administration of a program within one or more functional areas. Supports the overall design and development of the program operating goals, objectives and protocols. Assumes the primary role in the administration, execution, maintenance, implementation, change management, and cross-functional alignment of workstreams.

S upports student career and college readiness and healthy identity, helping break down barriers that prevent students from having access to opportunities in the District. Provides culturally responsive educator strategies for staff to enhance cultural proficiency and racial consciousness within schools that Native American students attend with a goal of increased graduation and pursuit of post-secondary career among Native American students.

- Establishes and develops strong community relationships to cultivate a pathway to post-secondary education.

- Develops and implements innovative approaches that will increase student engagement in assigned school; listens to student and parent voices and partners with them to influence and secure these practices with school administrators, teachers, and support staff.

- Serves as a bridge between the schools, families, and advocates of educational equity for Native students and families.

- Facilitates student empowerment, social, racial, academic, identity development, and peer-supported groups.

- Monitors student academic progress and works with school staff to develop academic success plans for students.

- Develops monthly data reports that support educational equity activities/events.

- Collaborates with the Cultural Equity Leadership Team (CELT) and with other building equity teams on various activities.

- Engages in conversation with building curriculum department and administration when students voice a concern about curriculum teachings that portray Native Americans in an offensive stereotypical manner or when Native students are not receiving equity in courses, special education, behavior, and other school policies.

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Two (2) or more years of experience working directly with students is required.

- Proficiency with Google Suite.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically and persuasively.

- Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills, including the ability to inspire others is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.

- Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive manner.

- Works collaboratively with others on a team.

- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of Nations/Tribal history and Native American communities and families in the Denver Metro area is preferred.

- Knowledgeable of scholarships and colleges that support retention of Native students is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability performing as an effective leader and team player and resolving conflicts or potentially controversial situations through diplomacy is preferred.

E ducation Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree is required.

- Master's Degree is preferred.
