Purpose:

The purpose of the office manager is to provide confidential clerical support to building administrators and staff to ensure the highest level of instruction is being delivered.
Essential Functions:
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the building office; oversees work of clerical staff and student assistants
  • Collaborate with the building principal to plan, organize and manage the financial operations of the school, including budget, accounting, purchasing, and pcard
  • Reconcile cash accounts as assigned for the purposes of maintaining accurate balances and complying with accounting practices
  • Responsible for accurate state and federal reporting
  • Monitor assigned activities and/or program components for the purpose of ensuring compliance with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
  • Enroll new students and process student withdrawals
  • Maintain permanent student records; Input and manage student information, including schedules
  • Arrange substitutes for staff; release substitutes; orient substitutes new to the building
  • Provide daily and weekly Frontline (substitute) reports
  • Troubleshoot office equipment; inventory and order office supplies
  • Evaluate situations involving staff, students, parents, and the public for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution
  • Act as a liaison and effectively communicate information to administration, staff, students, parents, and community. Compose documents for the purpose of communicating information.
  • Assist the building principal in carrying out responses to emergencies and critical situations
  • Attend building and district level meetings
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Terms:
  • 8 hours/day - 5 days week for a total of 217 days inclusive of holidays
  • Benefits and salary per DCPEA collective bargaining agreement

Salary Rate Range : Per CBA

Qualifications : Qualifications:
High school diploma required with three years of specialized training or two years of college.
Experience as a middle school secretary preferred.
Knowledge of office management and supervisory principles
Skill in effective communication both oral and written
Knowledge of a variety of office procedures including advanced knowledge of computer software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Suite, Skyward secondary class scheduling/attendance/report preparation, and AESOP/Frontline.
Ability to organize, set priorities, problem solve and work effectively under pressure while accomplishing multiple and varied tasks
Ability to exercise sound independent judgment including appropriate handling of confidential data and matters
Current First Aid/CPR certification
Candidate must be able to lift 60 pounds
