Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under supervision of certificated teacher(s), prepare individualized or small group classroom instruction.
- Assist classroom teacher with remedial instruction in reading and math for students.
- Supervision of students on the playground and in the lunchroom.
- Perform clerical duties as needed.
- Assist with instruction as needed.
- Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
- Participate regularly in staff meetings, in-service programs, workshops and seminars.
- Conduct all work in a safe manner and comply with rules & regulations as specified by district policies and procedures.
- Teach the student basic life skills and social skills information.
- Physically be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Willingness to do all student care jobs including: student hygiene, lifting and personal care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Seventy-Two (72) college quarter credits and/or A.A. required and/or completion of ETS Test.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and to follow through efficiently and independently on assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to assist students in gaining social, academic and self-help skills.
- Evidence of emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to assist children in mastering academic skills.
- Evidence of being fully vaccinated from COVID-19 in accourdance with Proclamation 21-14.1, or an approved religious or medical exemption.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
