POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering vocational rehabilitation services to individuals who are deaf and/or hard of hearing, leading to employment, including job development and job placement.

Position Duties include:
Assist persons with deafness or hard of hearing disabilities in preparing for and obtaining employment; determine eligibility for vocational services; provide individual career/counseling to people with disabilities; review medical, psychological, and vocational data to evaluate the nature and extent of the disability; coordinates and provide services to eligible individuals necessary to accommodate their disabilities and obtain employment; obtain services from other community agencies for people with disabilities; and provide job placement, post-employment, and follow- up services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in a behavioral or social science related field is required.

Note: A Master's Degree in a Behavioral or Social Science related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must consent to State Police Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with this Agency.
