Contract Length/ Days: (2022-2023/ 188 Days) + 8 extra duty contract days

Salary: Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employees' education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required:
Applicant must hold a current Colorado teacher's license.
Applicant must have three years of successful teaching experience, proven leadership qualities, and deep understanding of pedagogy.
Prior successful leadership experience on building and/or district curriculum or improvement committees preferred. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education or the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Preferred:
Successful experience working with emerging bilingual learners and culturally, linguistically diverse learners.
Bilingual.
Master's degree.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary/Objective:
The Instructional Coach assists with the implementation of the district initiatives and strategic plan to increase student achievement by working directly with schools and teachers for best instructional practices and assist with professional development, work with building administrators, and coaching. A collaborative model is used to enroll teachers in a side-by-side learning partnership. This coach will work directly with efforts to help teachers improve.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide training and ongoing support to develop, sustain, and advance Co-Teaching methodology in the school.
  • Provide direct support to students in a classroom by delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of co-teaching models and strategies aligned to the district.
  • Help to ensure that the school's Unified Improvement Plan goals are being implemented at high levels in all classrooms.
  • Ensure appropriate access to the curriculum, lessons and learning environment.
  • Use district curriculum and guidelines to design engaging classroom activities and differentiated lessons ls so that all students may access the curriculum and benefit from the educational experience.
  • Formally and informally assess the student learning (rather than relying solely on standardized curriculum) to create a comprehensive learning program. Collaborate with teachers as they implement research-based instructional strategies in district and school identified initiatives.
  • Cultivate strong, collegial relationships with all staff by building rapport and trust through conversations, modeling and observing in the classrooms.
  • Support teachers as they learn how to effectively utilize district and school instructional materials and instructional models.
  • Coach teachers as they learn to appropriately administer and interpret assessment to design and differentiate instruction for all students.
  • Coach teachers as they use data from valid and reliable assessments to design and differentiate instruction for all students.
  • Establish and maintain an effective partnership with the building principal and district leaders.
  • Assist teachers in the implementation of appropriate interventions using co-teaching.
  • Develop as a coach through district training, collaboration with coaches and independent study.
  • Coach teachers in the areas of co-teaching, blended learning, and project based learning.
  • Coach teachers to build cultural proficiency in order to build an inclusive environment aimed at providing access to learning for all students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies. Visual, auditory and ambulatory ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Conflict management skills. Strong organizational skills. Empathetic. Positive relationship builder. Knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position as outlined.
