    Job Summary:

    The Director of Grants is responsible for writing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating grants. The administrator is also responsible to provide direct support to administrators on an on-going basis in support of development of educators and staff through initiatives that promote professional and career growth opportunities through various pathways including evaluation support training, coaching, monitoring, etc. This position initiates and is liaison to all corporate partnerships; directs, coordinates, supervises and evaluates programs, activities and staff and exercises direct supervision over staff in the following areas: Grants.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    Grants
    • Develops all Title I, Priority Schools, Consolidated and other Grants as assigned in consultation with the Central Office
    • Monitors grants and assures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations pertaining to the grant program under his/her direction
    • Evaluates all grants and makes recommendations to the Central Office based on these evaluations
    • Prepares reports as required by federal, state and/or local authorities
    • Maintains current and accurate financial records related to grant funded programs
    • Makes periodic reports to the Board of Education
    • Assists building principals in using achievement data and other factors in planning to allocate funds
    • Develops and oversees Perkins Grant


    Community Outreach, Academically Talented Programs, and Operational Projects
    • Coordinates and monitors Title IV after school programs
    • Works collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction in the allocation of grant funds to support curriculum and instruction goals
    • Program oversight for funding of After-the-Bell programs and evaluation of staff
    • Acts as liaison to State Department, attends state meetings that pertain to grants, programs, community involvement, and out-of-school time
    • Collaborates with COO to develop a system-wide process for collection of data on enrollment
    • Oversees academically talented programs and provides supervision and evaluation for the department
    • Provides leadership and ongoing administration of the Academically Talented program including identifying candidates for the program, communicating with schools and parents, and planning for greater inclusion of under-represented groups of children
    • Collaborates with outside funders, business partners, agencies, and community service organizations to continue to build relationships and obtain financial funding
    • Supervises the Business Ed, Technology Ed, and Family and Consumer Sciences departments and aligns with Perkins Grant
    • Evaluates School-to-Career personnel and annual program evaluation
    • Participates on the District Data Team
    • Prepares presentations for the Board, community, and partnerships as necessary
    • Provides program management for partnerships and initiatives that have been created with such agencies as Norwalk Children's Foundation, United Way, GE, Pepperidge Farm, and others
    • Manages ProTraxx CEU proposals as part of professional development

    Coaching
    • Provide coaching to school leaders with a focus on individual and organizational change, growth and renewal
    • Utilize the coaching context of context, content, and conduct
    • Use effective coaching strategies that will advance administrative leadership for the advancement of student learning

    General
    • Creates reports for federal compliance
    • Creates reports for state compliance
    • Creates reports for local compliance
    • Performs other duties as may be delegated by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee

    Qualifications Profile:
    • CT Intermediate Administrator certification (092)
    • Must have at least 5 years total of demonstrated superior administrative and supervisory experience
    • Broad knowledge of curriculum and instruction
    • Understanding of curriculum and curriculum development practices and program evaluation
    • Familiarity with recent research on teaching, learning, and best practices in relevant fields
    • Ability to work effectively with administrative and teaching colleagues
    • Excellent organizational skills, grant writing, staff training, creation and maintenance of budgets
    • Knowledge and experience in school operations and staffing


    Preferred Qualification:
    Fluency is Spanish is an asset.

    COMPENSATION:
    Salary schedule - $130,000 - $160,741

    Schedule: Monday through Friday / 40 hours/week
