The Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) is currently seeking a Teaching Coordinator in the DMH education program in Tewksbury, MA. (CES) is the Contracted Provider for SEIS, a program of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Since July 2008 we have worked with DESE to coordinate and deliver special education services to students in the care of the Department of Youth Services (DYS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), Department of Public Health (DPH), and the County Houses of Correction (CHC).

Highlights of What You Will Do:
  1. Assist the SEIS Coordinator with a daily school schedule and provide accurate student data and other documentation
  2. Complete all administrative reports as needed, including logs and monthly supervision documentation.
  3. Provide onsite leadership to support high leverage practices and research based curriculum, in accordance with the Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching and with host facilities' policies and procedures
  4. Develop and implement curriculum lessons and mini-units, aligned with MA curriculum Frameworks for scheduled course load.
  5. Collaborate in the development of IEP planning notes and IEP progress reports
  6. Provide content area instruction as scheduled by supervisor, integrating students' IEP goals and objectives, learning style information, accommodations and modifications as appropriate.
  7. Contribute to SEIS student outcome achievement by taking action to close achievement, access, and opportunity gaps for students of color, economically disadvantaged students, English learners, and students with disabilities

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree from accredited College or University, Masters Degree desirable
  2. Massachusetts teacher licensure in a Core Content area AND Special Education, at the appropriate grade level.
  3. Demonstrated successful teaching with high risk youth desirable
  4. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coordinate and supervise staff
  5. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required to meet the demands of the job.
  6. Multilingual and multicultural candidates desired
  7. Commitment to student education and staff implementation of social justice and equity opportunities and social emotional learning

Workplace Health and Safety: CES employees working on site in DYS, DMH, DPH or CHC facilities are required to demonstrate that they have received COVID-19 vaccination.

Compensation: $57,600 - $84,900

CES Benefits: CES offers a comprehensive benefit package including: Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and voluntary Short Term Disability, enhanced Vision and additional Life Insurance. Health Insurance is offered through Harvard Pilgrim, with multiple options including a PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and an HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of health insurance deductions. FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES is considered a quasi-state agency and provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility. Employees are vested after ten years of creditable service. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year.
