E ssential Functions and Objectives:

A dministers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

S upports data and reporting needs within the District related to student outcomes. Optimizes data usability by developing Published Data databases to be used by District analysts to streamline analyses. Frequently write queries to pull data, maintains databases, documents logic for data extraction, and writes reports using a variety of tools. Performs regular data loads, provides technical support to the district teams and develops and executes processes to load both vendor and state-supplied data into department databases.

- Develops Published Data databases to be used by department analysts to streamline analyses, including documentation of business rules for these databases.

- Develops streamlined processes for state submissions, including preparation for submissions and documentation of business rules for state submissions.

- Performs regular data loads to external assessment vendor systems.

- Provides technical support to district teams with rostering, loading data, and more.

- Develops and executes processes for loading data into internal databases.

- Works with department staff during vendor negotiations to inform contract from technical perspective and needs and works closely with the Database Administrator and Senior Data Specialist.

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Three (3) or more years of experience in performing similar tasks, including extensive experience working with relational databases and with query and data import/export functionality, is required.

- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is required.

- Proficiency with Google Suite & Microsoft Applications.

- Proficiency in accessing and manipulating data as well as fluency with one or more of the following applications: MS Access, Microsoft SQL Server Data Definition Language (DDL), and/or Structured Query Language (SQL).

- Report skills using MS Access, SQL MS Excel, Server Reporting Services, and/or Excel Services.

- Ability to perform troubleshooting techniques to isolate, diagnose, and repair data defects.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss issues at a technical and non-technical level with programmers and project stakeholders.

- Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.

- The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.

- Works collaboratively with others on a team.

- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong data modeling, database design, and data manipulation skills.

- Demonstrated customer-service orientation and a positive attitude.

- High degree of confidentiality and integrity in handling information.

E ducation Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably Computer Science, Information Systems, or Social Sciences.

- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Social Sciences is preferred.
